The largest park in Lipetsk region was founded in the 1960s on the lands of the Novolipetsk forestry and has been an important recreational territory of the left bank of the city. Nevertheless, by the beginning of design works, it was nearly abandoned, only the central alley was used in a relatively complete way.
The task was to develop a complex reconstruction of the territory and to program new scenarios for its usage.
Sociological study was carried out, and much attention was paid to the philosophy of the project and its relationship with NLMK, the initiator and main investor of the reconstruction.
The project was realized in 2019. The colonnade built in 1960s was restored, and groups of decorative lamps were installed along the reconstructed alleys - and this simple and economical solution became the hallmark and the symbol of the park in social networks. A well-developed sports infrastructure has been built: basketball, volleyball, workout grounds, a large and a small cycling ring and a sports equipment rental. A large part of originality is provided to the park by unique artificial hill constructed of stone gabions. Former dance floor has become the stage with the hill amphitheater that opens to it.
Metal has become the main theme of the park. The fence along the Adm. Makarov Street and planters in the entrance area are made of Corten. The central axis is being completed with the park pavilion, and a network of eco trails spreads on its both sides.
In the park, an exceptional ecological approach was taken - not a single tree was cut down during the project development, and that made the park attractive for visitors immediately after the opening of the first stage in July 2019.
The park remains a flexible system interacting with the city: it has become attractive for local business, and the project provides possibility of effective and harmonious post-project development of the territory.
The project is developed for the architectural bureau Front Architecture.
