Boutique hotel and spa is located in the area of Kurzeme in Western Latvia, famous for its natural sources of the blue clay, used for centuries in medicine and cosmeology. Architecture of the hotel is inspired by traditional Latvian farmhouse. Such its features as half-opened to the hill and the lake square form, clearness of the style, recognizable traditional proportions are taken from the genuine Latvian examples. Classical traditional materials (clay brick and tile, natural wood), that like the blue clay also come from earth, are mostly used for structure and finishing. The walls are decorated with a pattern recalling traditional timber framing, though made just with two different textures of plaster and intentionally aged by means of visual partial appearance and disappearance. All that gives a guest a visual and sensual impression of warm hospitality and traditional coziness of a countryside house.
